The Macrotones have been crafting deep, offbeat funk and soul since 2007.
The Boston-based 10-piece blends heavy grooves, blazing horns, and global influences into a dancefloor-ready sound. They’ve shared stages with legends like Lee Fields, Durand Jones, and the Budos Band, earning a reputation for high-energy, genre-defying performances.
With a discography spanning six records—including their latest, From the Void (2024)—the Macrotones continue to evolve. Their sound took on a grittier, classic soul edge in 2019 with the addition of vocalist Phil Desisto, drawing comparisons to Bobby Womack. Even during the pandemic, they stayed active, releasing Bloody Hands (2020) and recording a live set deep in the woods of New Hampshire.
Now back on the road, the Mac bring their signature “soundtrack for spies” to more audiences, fusing psychedelic funk, Afrobeat, and cinematic soul into something entirely their own.
